It's time for a little change. The technological world has been changing around us, and it is time for the education system to do the same. In order to support our future and this constantly evolving technology, it is important that our schools are working toward this new future. These schools, called "new-schools" will change the structure of the classroom. I don't really mean the structure, or the building, but definitely how the classroom in set up in terms of learning. With all the advances we have including the Internet in the palm's of our hands, let's work towards utilizing these tools. Instead of reading from textbooks and answering review questions, let's give our students a chance to explore and research on their own.
The internet offers so many ways to stay connected with scholars, teachers, other schools and students. We can use these tools to better our students and provide them with more than we have ever been able to before, such as bookmarking sites to log information, blogs and discussions boards, wikis and much more.
I am slowly gaining confidence in using on-line resources to better my instructional time and give students more to explore. I will be posting fun and exciting tools to use in the art classroom to support much needed change in our educational system. Feel free to try out new sources and post things that you have found worthy as well!!!
